Did you enjoy your summer? The Autumnal Equinox may still be a few weeks away, but make no mistake: summer is over. Time to pack up your white shoes and pick up those school supplies! Fall surely has much to recommend it like migrating birds and mulled cider, but today we in the Northern Hemisphere celebrate the end of endless summer days. Having fun?

My best birds of the weekend were a bevy of Eastern Bluebirds in adult azure and immature mottled brown, beauteous birds any time of year. Corey was most pleased with a host of Bobolinks at the same place he suspected them of attempting to breed this spring (though he ended up short of evidence).

What was your best bird of the weekend? Tell us in the comments section about the rarest, loveliest, or most fascinating bird you observed. If you’ve blogged about your weekend experience, you should include a link in your comment.
