It is with great sadness that we share the news that Charlie will be leaving 10,000 Birds. Charlie Moores has been vital to the success of 10,000 Birds over the years. While we wish he could stay, he’s moving on and will be sorely missed. Of course, you will be able to follow his adventures on Talking Naturally. We wish Charlie the best and hope that he succeeds in all of his birding and blogging endeavors.
Mike is a leading authority in the field of standardized test preparation, but he's also a traveler who fully expects to see every bird in the world. Besides founding 10,000 Birds in 2003, Mike has also created a number of other entertaining but now extirpated nature blog resources, particularly the Nature Blog Network and I and the Bird.

Very sads news. Charlie has been a real inspiration to me, to do more for birds! If we dont fund conservation we are going to lose species. I think the Conservation Club was such a positve initiative!
All the best Charlie and hope you make it to Australia later this year. We still have that date for the big birthday in Panama don’t we?!
I’ll add my voice to those who will be missing Charlie in this venue. I’ve been a fan since the days of Charlie’s Bird Blog, and like to consider this man a friend, despite our never having met, and our fundamental differences on some points of view.
I hope, Charlie, that you will continue to write as you have a talent for it. I look forward to reading that book some day.
Really sad to hear this news and suspect that this will sound the death knell of 10000 birds. Since the addition of beat writers this site has lost its ‘voice’ and Charlie was the only thing keeping it from just being a rather poorly thought through group of ramblings.
Anyway, hopefully Charlie will carry on elsewhere and I can follow his undoubted talent there
