A plant in South Africa, commonly called Rat’s Tail but referred to by scientists as Babiana ringens, evolved a perch for birds to use while feeding.  This aids the plants because they get pollinated as part of the bargain.  Now if only one of the plants in New York would evolve a couch near a good birding spot…
