We’re entering the home stretch of the calendar year with just one more month to go before 2013. December tends to be a hectic month with lots of end-of-year business activity interrupting our holiday preparation and celebration. My advice for a peaceful December is to avoid malls on the weekends… go birding instead!

Despite my advice, I don’t expect to get out in nature this weekend due to a deluge of work to do before my big trip next week (which I don’t believe I’ve mentioned yet…) Corey, on the other hand, will be birding his way around Long Island and heading upstate on Saturday and then heading way upstate in search of Adirondack specialties on Sunday. I expect he’ll see enough birds for both of us.  How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Keep your eyes to the skies for birds that shouldn’t be there
