Autumn is now upon us, isn’t it? Crossing the 42nd latitude yesterday, I saw quite a bit of color in rolling, wooded hills. The first weekend of fall (or spring, depending on your perspective) can be a feast for the eyes. So what are you looking at this weekend and are birds on this itinerary? Comment below on the excitement you have planned!

I’m in the NYC area celebrating my beautiful niece Alexa’s first birthday. Corey will probably pull himself away from tapping out the next installment of Birdtopia long enough to chase birds around the boroughs. As far as Charlie goes, who knows where he’ll be this weekend… wherever you might be, I suggest you keep your eyes out for a keen-eyed Brit with a love of liberal commentary and life birds!

Regardless of how you plan to celebrate the beginning of a new season, be sure to celebrate Sky Watch Friday

If you awaken early enough, you might be treated to a dawn like this Chicago sunrise by Charlie.
