The second weekend of May is a very special time, where we all come together with loved ones to celebrate what really matters. That’s right, May 13 is Global Big Day, so be sure to get out there and record some birds! (Did you think I was going to mention some other holiday?)

I’ll be chasing wood warblers close to home here in Rochester, especially since our traditional migrant traps are flooded out. Corey is leading another Audubon bird walk and will no doubt expand his bird chasing efforts beyond that. And maybe we’ll both spend some time with the mothers in our lives…

How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
