November bears a strong resemblance to March in these parts, attired in the same shapeless, threadbare dress. Each of these months lacks distinction except that March heralds a steady upswing of hope while November descends into dreary despair, and I’m not just talking about the approaching holiday season! Perspective no doubt varies by your latitude. In any case, those of us in the leafless north must seize the sunny day. So what will you be doing this weekend? Any birding in your itinerary? Please share your plans in the comments below.

After my lovely long Caribbean weekend followed by a grueling two-day return home, I’m still getting my bearings. Who knows whether I’ll be able to get out enjoy what promises to be a sunny weekend. Any birding Corey does this weekend will be close to home, if at all. Considering that his son will either have been born or will be might close to arrival by this weekend, no birding seems like the most likely outcome. Charlie expects, as he says, to be mostly in labour too though I warrant he and Daisy will have profoundly different experiences!

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
