Hate to be the bearer of yule tidings, but the holiday season is almost upon us. At least, that’s the impression I’m getting from all the Black Friday ads in my mailbox. On the bright side, this means that the Christmas Bird Count (or whatever you want to call it) isn’t that far off either!

I’ve encountered plenty of White-winged Crossbills this week, but have my sights set on a Red one. Hopefully, a flock will go to ground somewhere in the Rochester area. Corey will stick to Queens, which has been working out rather well for him lately. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Keep your eyes to the skies for seabird silhouettes
