By the time this blog post publishes I will be in a minivan with Andrew and John heading north and east to compete in the Super Bowl of Birding!  Along the way we will likely be stopping to look for previously reported rarities so hopefully we will have lots to blog about upon our return.  But this blog post isn’t about what we will be blogging about when we get back from the Super Bowl of Birding: this blog post is about how you can keep up with our exploits during the Super Bowl of Birding, which takes place from 5 AM to 5 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, 30 January.

No, we haven’t managed to ink a deal with a network (or even a cable channel) yet but that doesn’t mean that you can’t follow the Bloggerhead Kingbirds as we seek birds and glory in the 2010 Super Bowl of Birding.  Three of our six-man, bird blogger team will be at least occasionally tweeting during the event.  They are Christopher who tweets as picusblog, Nate who tweets as NC_N8, Andrew who tweets as birdingdude, and John who tweets as dendroicaMike and I will not be tweeting so you’ll have to wait until later to get our version of events…

Here’s hoping we have a great day in the field, seeing multitudes of birds, including lifers for all, and take first place in the Super Bowl of Birding.  Though, of course, I will settle for having a good time, not freezing to death, and not finishing last.  Set the bar low enough and it becomes easy to jump!

Wish us luck!
