The solstice may not have arrived yet but around here, winter birding season has begun. If signs are auspicious in your area, take a break from holiday shopping (it’s too early yet anyway!) and turn your eyes to the skies. What will you be doing this weekend and will you be watching birds? Comment below on the excitement you have planned!

This weekend, I’ll be trying to avert another site crash like 10,000 Birds suffered today. I’ll also be doing a bit of birding. Lady luck generously granted me a Snowy Owl yesterday; maybe she’s got some winter finches for me too! Charlie and Corey are probably interviewing competent webmasters over the weekend but knowing them, they’ll be out and about observing avifauna as well.

Whatever you do this weekend, make time to enjoy Sky Watch Friday

When you see the sky, make sure a bodacious Bohemian Waxwing isn’t between it and you!
