As Bill McKibben explains in the Washington Post, more warmth means more moisture in the air (4% more since 1970). And, despite rising temperatures, it is still cold enough in the winter to snow. So, more moisture meets winter temperatures and you have yourself more snow than usual. It also means bought-and-paid-for U.S. Senators who think they are funny mocking Al Gore.
