Blogging is just like everything else in this wild world… if you work at it long enough and surround yourself with talented individuals, you’re bound to earn some level of respect. 10,000 Birds has been most fortunate in that regard.  We’ve been showered with links, spots on people’s blogrolls, heck, we were even declared one of the 100 Most Informative Blogs in the world. I’m grateful to announce yet another sign that you, the readers like us (you really, really like us!)

As you may surmise from the new graphic in our sidebar, 10,000 Birds was recently added to the Top Outdoor News listings at Alltop. There, among the hikers, campers, and gear fetishists, you’ll find updated links to our inimitable brand of bird bloggery. Why is this a big deal or as they so delicately phrase it, “confirmation that we kick ass?” To me, it’s because Alltop is such a great site.

Alltop, another link in the Guy Kawasaki chain of world betterment/domination, is a self-described “online magazine rack” of popular topics. In the same vein as popurls, Alltop aggregates a slew of links. The difference is that they deliver “all the top sites” in 275 different topics.  Well, that’s what they’ve been advertising… now that we’re in the mix, that claim is a little bit more accurate!
