Now that we’ve acknowledged that I and the Bird is “four years young” as Corey put it, we have to evaluate this endeavor for signs of life. Is IATB still vital? All signs point to yes, and I’m not getting that response from my trusty Magic 8-Ball. My proof that I and the Bird is still alive and kicking is that awesome bloggers like Liza Lee Miller continue to participate, promote, and even host our festive carnival. This is Liza Lee’s third time at the helm yet her enthusiasm for presenting the best bird blogging of the last fortnight clearly remains undiminished. Enjoy her fun free verse edition of I and the Bird #107 – We and the Bird!

Another critical sign of life for a collaboration like ours is that new voices feel welcome to participate, promote, and host. Nancy Castillo of The Zen Birdfeeder has been doing a great job with the first two tasks for a while but how will she serve as host? Make Nancy’s life easier by sending her (wbu AT nycap DOT rr DOT com) or me a link and summary for your best recent post about birding or wild birds by September 1 for the 9/3 edition.

Also be advised that we are always looking for new hosts, either veterans or first-timers. Contact me to be a part of the fall schedule.
