So many parts of the United States are afflicted with unseasonable cold that spring feels more like a theory than an actual season. Case in point, someone wished me a “Happy 109th Day of January” today… in the middle of a small snow squall! But don’t let the weird weather fool you; birds are on the move.

Some very interesting rarities have been abiding at Montezuma NWR, so look for me if you’re there this weekend. Corey can always be found hunting rarities in Queens this time of year. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
