You are right, Mike! I have a few Birds Eye Pepper plants in my yard which came up voluntarily (my neighbor has them). I am told the birds eat the peppers and distribute droppings which include the seeds of the peppers. This must be true because trying to collect the ripe peppers, as soon as they turn red, if I don’t hurry to collect them for my pepper sauce, the birds grab them right off the plant before me! These peppers are the hottest in Texas and is now the official State pepper! It doesn’t seem to bother the birds!
