Weekends, you may have noticed, exhibit remarkable elasticity, capable of being stretched far beyond their normal boundaries. Many of you may still have a couple of more weekend days left to enjoy, but we should check in now for the sake of those less recreationally-endowed.
Corey spent the weekend being a tourist in Niagara Falls and Toronto so he didn’t see too many birds. Of those that he did see, he was most entertained by the legions of Ring-billed Gulls around Niagara Falls. They’re not rare or particularly pretty, but they are imbued with the essence of Niagara Falls. I also think gulls for the Falls, but the Great Lakes in summer are very much about Caspian Terns, which made the scene for me this weekend during a welcome respite from the endless Rochester rain.
