@Jacob: In Germany, they’d refer to it as a Polarbirkenzeisig, which translates to “polar birch siskin”. 🙂 😉
By the way, the polar birch siskin is a very rare vagrant to Germany as well, so the entire episode might not be quite as fictional as we think?
