Enjoy the view at Moorcroft Manor in South Africa

Waking up to snow at the end of April is uncommon even here in western New York. My immediate reaction this morning was not fit for print, while my second was to wonder if April Fools Day fell twice this month. While I gave a moment’s thought to our new spring arrivals, they are probably much better equipped to cope with the cold than I am at this point. Just another reason to be incredibly impressed with even the smallest songbird…

If tomorrow is free of frost and flurries, I might be persuaded to seek out new migrants. Corey never needs encouragement when new birds are on the wing. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
