We at 10,000 Birds have accrued a couple of honors worth mentioning in the last week. The first of these is inclusion in science.newsriver.org, a new science blog aggregator written by web hero Dave Winer. I’m not sure how many of you have followed the chaos and controversy that has beset the science blogging community, particularly the former Sciborg of SEED Scienceblogs, but this aggregator provides an essential function in response to the ongoing diaspora by spinning together the far-flung threads of great science blogging across the wide web. Or maybe I’m just saying that because 10,000 Birds is part of the feed…

Our second bit of good news is our inclusion in the 2010 Top Bird Blog Awards sponsored by Online Schools (defunct as of June 2012). According to the sponsor, this award highlights the very best blogs from to learn about birds and birdwatching on the internet. If you check out the list, you’ll find that we are in very good company.

Many thanks to Dave Winer and Online Schools, and of course to our readers, for sharing our interest and pleasure in blogging!
