I realize the potential for inappropriateness here is high. That the birds known by ornithologists as “Sulids” and by the general public, often accompanied by giggles and smirks, as Boobies, are silly is a charge no bird can deny. But the booby show has been intense in the last few months, with Blue-footed, Brown, and Masked Boobies showing up everywhere and anywhere.

So lets celebrate them. Incidentally, I’ll also accept Gannets as well, though the potential for google hits is much lower.

Send me your posts and photos of Gannets and Boobies to naswick AT gmail.com. Put IATB in the subject line.

Deadline is Tuesday October 29 for publication on October 31.

Thanks!
