The next couple of months are traditionally a bit slow for lists. The spring migration has passed, most of the summer visitors have been ticked off already and the beats are snoozing in the shade. The best way to boost totals is to travel. Redgannet had a great start to the month. A trip to Brazil included a morning in the Mata Atlantica that netted 97 species! Adelei the guide at REGUA must take the credit for that stunning number. Dragan continues to share reliably and Patrick, well where would we be were it not for Patrick?
The month of June broke down as follows;
632 species were seen by 9 beats contributing 58 checklists. The running total for the year has reached 1714 at the half-way mark and the life total stands at 2949.
Countries birded were; Brazil, USA, Malaysia, UK, Serbia, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand and Costa Rica.
In a slight change to the normal format and just to make your browsers work harder, June’s list is seen just here with the up-dated, year-so-far list below it
