The Atlanta Hawk’s mascot, a hawk named “Spirit,” managed to delay the Hawks’ playoff game against the Miami Heat last night, perching on the basket and refusing to leave. The basketball players, to their credit, refused to play on until the Harris’s Hawk was removed by his handler. Video of the delay here, and, no, this was not the mascot perched on the basket.
Corey is a New Yorker who lived most of his life in upstate New York but has lived in Queens since 2008. He's only been birding since 2005 but has garnered a respectable life list by birding whenever he wasn't working as a union representative or spending time with his family.
