As you may have noticed, we’ve recently started publishing interviews with different people from the birding scene (yes, I know that sounds a bit weird). So far, we’ve talked to:

  • Authors of bird books
  • eBird contributors and reviewers
  • Birding tour operators
  • Ornithology Ph.D. students
  • …and of course, Bird guides (in our weekly series).

There are more already in preparation — for example, with podcasters, organizers of bird walks, and conservationists.

But we’d like to expand this series further. Future interviews could feature:

  • Publishing & media: bird book publishers and editors, bird bloggers, professional photographers, and illustrators
  • Research & collections: field researchers, museum curators of bird collections
  • Conservation & community: bird rehabilitators, NGO leaders, managers of reserves or IBAs, leaders of bird clubs, organizers of bird fairs
  • Technology & industry: developers of birding-related apps, producers of optics (binoculars, scopes, maybe even cameras)

If you belong to one of these groups — or have other suggestions of whom to talk to — please get in touch. Your ideas could help shape the next interviews.
