Gunnison’s Sage-Grouse, a grassland galliform that puts on a serious show during mating season, has lost nearly 90 percent (and counting) of its habitat to development and energy extraction. Now that we have an administration more sympathetic to the plight of endangered species than the previous one, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has agreed to reconsider protecting the sage-grouse.
