Wow, I am amazed that a Great Blue Heron can fend off a Great Horned Owl! Just goes to show you that you never want to mess with a mother defending her brood!

I was in Ithaca recently (got a Cornell Lab cap to prove it 🙂 ) and saw these herons IRL. They are quite the celebrities!
