Gareno Lodge made its claim to fame when they had a Harpy Eagle nest near their lodge. The most amazing show lasted almost two years while the eagle parents prepared their new born for his first flight.
I have visited Gareno in search of the mythical bird but failed to see it until my last visit where miraculously saw two eagles perched on a tree very far away. The pair of eagles perched for at least 10 minutes while we all took turns on the scope to get great view of the birds. At first we only saw one bird but soon the second one flew and perched. I was never able to get good pictures because the scope was cranked to 65X and the lighting was not very good. Here is one of the shots I managed to get:
Felicidades for getting an awesome lifer!
