Many thanks to Duncan to pointing out this item about a host of House Martins descending on a single house in Malvin, Worcestershire, from the “The Daily Fail.”  The homeowner is quoted, without correction, as saying, “We think the mothers laid the chicks in our guttering which is very high and the other birds came to look after them.”
