Turkey has transferred some rare Northern Bald Ibis to Syria in an attempt to bolster the dwindling breeding colony there, one of only three left in the world. Morocco has about 450, Turkey about 100, and Syria’s population was down to four until six birds, two adults and four juveniles, were brought from Turkey to Syria.
