Julie Zickefoose makes a compelling case to get your binocular-toting self to the Midwest Birding Symposium in Lakeside, Ohio. As if you needed another reason once you heard I was going to be attending.

I’ll see in you the Den of Blogniquity. BTW, were you able to work out lodging?
Great! And, yes, I’m rooming with that woodpecker guy.
I can’t wait to get to one of these fests. Alas, not this year. I feel like the kid who is invited to the party but can’t go. Watch out for that woodpecker guy though.
Groan — I really want to go but unfortunately Friday is completely dead for me. Is it worth it if I can only show up by noon-midday Saturday? Is stuff going on all day Sunday or just the morning? I’d really hate to miss it, but also don’t want to put in 10+ hours of driving if I’ll miss most of the good stuff.
