Both Birdfreak and The Drinking Bird have posts up with thoughts about snipe hunts, and they claim that snipe exist! Oh, wait, what, snipe do exist? Why do so many things people learn about birds have to be false?

I forgot to mention; my traffic meter tells me that that post attracts a disproportionate number of clicks suggesting (to me at least) a lot of bewildered snipe hunters googling away for answers!
