Corey is a New Yorker who lived most of his life in upstate New York but has lived in
Queens since 2008. He's only been birding since 2005 but has garnered a respectable
life list by birding whenever he wasn't working as a union representative or spending time with his family. He lives in Forest Hills with Daisy and Desmond Shearwater. His bird photographs have appeared on the Today Show, in
Birding,
Living Bird Magazine,
Bird Watcher's Digest, and many other fine publications. He is also the author of the
American Birding Association Field Guide to the Birds of New York.
Regarding the church signage: “Für meinen Geschmack etwas zu plump und aggressiv.”
I know no German, but figured this one out on my own. 🙂
@Kirby: this is the reason I suggested linking to the blog post here. It’s not just his very good pictures (Gator in the rain? Geeez!). He also has the occasional “general” picture of landscape, people, and American civilization and throws in a good bit of interpretation and humour.
One of his best remarks is about the ridiculously huge SUVs you have in the US and their fuel consumption. At the very end (almost) of his post, he shows three pictures of these huge beasts and states:
“Plenty of cars you could never fill up while their motors are running”.
Priceless.
The pictures are just ALL stunning! The kind of picture that make you want to ditch your own camera for ever. Vielen Dank, Jochen.
