My job, union job that it is, is lousy with holidays. Our contract is solid enough that we get Good Friday off – even those of us who are atheists! And seeing as forecasters were unanimous in calling for sunny skies and warm weather I planned, once again, to take what has become my favorite walk in Queens. It really is great to have such a well-connected set of parks as Flushing Meadows Park, Queens Botanical Garden, Kissena Corridor Park and Kissena Park within walking distance, and even greater when it is warm enough to do most of the walk in a T-shirt. Like my last post about this walk I’ll not bore you with the details but just share some of my favorite pictures from my stroll. Hope you like them!

Thank goodness to know that at least ‘one’ American is an atheist!
Oh, so you saw domestic pigeon?
😉
@Brenton: There are a few of us…
@Jochen: I know you’re jealous. And you would be even more so if you realized that it is the rare and elusive Short-toed Pigeon.
That cardinal picture is very nice.
You sure it’s not the Marsh or Reed or Blyth’s variety?
Oh dang, wrong hoax.
