Birds display confidence, grace, and social finesse as if the world were watching and taking notes — not because it matters, but because admitting how little any of it changes would require effort. This set of posters is for them.

There has been the occasional mild interest in products based on this series – posters, screensavers, coffee mugs, T-Shirts … Should you share this interest, please let me know in the comments or at kai.pflug@gmail.com; I might set something up.

Kai, I looked back at one of the first Demotivational Poster Posts and read your final paragraph “So rather than contribute to this cycle of momentary inspiration and long-term disillusionment, we at 10,000 Birds are sticking to what we do best: a series of posters that present avian existence with the honesty it deserves. No hype, no false hopes—just a clear-eyed look at the everyday struggles, questionable decisions, and gently tragic realities of bird life — the sort of honesty the avian self-help industry prefers not to acknowledge.”
And, I can’t think of anything to say except “Yeah. The posters do all that.” Only reality can provide the grimness necessary for humor and irony. Like Bill Watterson did with Calvin & Hobbes.
Thank you for your kind comment, Jennifer! I am sometimes wondering whether anyone enjoys this series, and how many readers think that this really does not belong on the site … so, any moral support is highly appreciated.
NOOOOOO! I LOVE THESE! Earlier comments were very positive, so, as demotivational as it is for people not to reinforce this, I believe they still stand. I hope you won’t take legal action, but I dragged them into my photos app and send them to friends, post them on facebook when I go there. And when I figure out which one of 2 instagram accounts is the ‘right’ one, they will be popular posts.
Happy to hear that, Jennifer! No worries about legal action – demotivating birds is a cause that is very close to my heart, not something done for profit …
I’ve been a lurker here for some time. I don’t comment because it would show my complete ignorance of the subject. I just like birds…
I especially enjoy these demotivational posters and have shared them.
Please, keep them coming.
