Hey, hunters! I don’t care how many duck stamps you buy, if you are still hunting with lead you are not a conservationist. End of story.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s a shame that so much time, effort and money is going into saving these birds, only for all the effort to be undone because by such a simple problem to fix. Condors even benefit from hunting, when non-lead ammo is involved. It should be an open and shut case: no more lead, Condor recovery improves drastically.
A NO-BRAINER! With 67 percent of adult condor deaths being attributable to lead poisoning action is needed now. No one is suggesting banning hunting here, but for God’s sake, changing to an alternative ammunition to save unintended wildlife victims like eagles and other scavengers that eat lead from dead carcasses seems like the least we could do. It is a simple solution that shouldn’t be opposed by anyone, even if it costs a little bit more for the ammo, so what. Compared to losing another iconic species that’s been on the planet for at least 20,000 years, it is a small price to pay. Banning lead ammunition is the right thing to do for the environment and for wildlife. It’s a NO-BRAINER!
Did I say no-brainer? Here’s what the National Shooting Sports Foundation says on the subject. Really? Are you kidding me?
If hunters and anglers are actually conservationists, they should be behind this ban 100%. It shouldn’t be about money. It should be about saving needless deaths of endangered species.
