The second-ever record of Eurasian Hobby for lower 48 states has been spotted and photographed by Ian Davies in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was viewed from his yard. Now that is a yard bird that any American birder would kill for! Congratulations, Ian!

Hard to think of a yard bird than tops that one!
Hmmm. Even within its range in Europe this is a good bird to see (not rare but always nice & unusual). Quite nice for a North American yard, indeed!
yes, and the questions are: will it stay until the weekend? and how many people do I have to have in my car to satisfy the disdain of the environmental police?
I think it is great that this bird was seen and photographed. I also think conservation is a serious issue.
This weekend, bah. Can someone ask it to stick around until August?
