The bird proofing method that Redgannet mentions can have adverse consequences. In Richmond, VA a few years ago, it was used on the Senate building while the legislature was in session. A large number of Cedar Waxwings became entrapped in the sticky goo; some died and some spent weeks with rehabbers until they grew new feathers. And it was a public relations disaster – taxpayer funds being spent on something that harms a beautiful and iconic species.
