Guided tours, extensive walking tracks on our property, planning to install a bird blind and feeders

What makes your lodge special?

We are at the boundary between two vegetation types, open woodland (agricultural food forest) and rainforest, meaning we have a wide range of species present. To date, we have observed 132 species on our property, and we have also planted a significant number of bird-attracting tree species.

Yes:

  • Facilitating release of rehabilitated wildlife by FNPF (conservation NGO) e.g. Sunda Scops Owl, Serpent Eagle
  • Organizing tree planting in Batukaru rainforest in 2008 ~5,000 trees
  • Planting a native tree sanctuary of about 200 trees on our property
  • Implementing ‘Bird Safe Windows’ with visible lines to prevent bird impacts
  • Training local guides
  • Advocating against poaching
